Introduction

The ones of Deofol have been at battle for eons, but have never found their true hero. As the battle against the twice risen god, Samael, and his many offspring waged on, the people knew they needed a leader: one that connected the factions and villages of this world. They found these qualities in You, Godslayer. We know this may be hard for you, but you must remember that if you do not succeed, all will be lost. You will travel across the great realm of Deofol, learn its secrets, and then you will be ready… Ready to fight The Fallen One: face-to-face, supported by the greatest heroes of the four factions. And I must warn you, all up to now has been a lie. You are not descendant from farmers and petty militia, but the great god Logos of Fate. Forget your old name, and become what you are destined to be, Godslayer.

Ogo

I have always lived in Deofol, but I never realized it’s great vastness until my father took me to the base of Ogo for my 13th birthday, as it was the closest realm to my small village. As a child, I had been forbidden to leave the village. My father told me it was too dangerous for a child my age to walk alone, but I always knew there was more to that story then a petty excuse. Now, I as I enter the toothy maw of the great serpent, I look back at that day and wonder, why had we not gone closer? The Lifebound are peaceful people, but my father had insisted we stay at the viewing point and get no closer. Today, I was to meet the people of Ogo, for I had been given the opportunity to be more then just a militia member. I was to become a hero, but I still can’t quite comprehend what that entails.
As I walked into the gaping mouth, I gazed up and saw twisting reeds of moss and vines hanging from the ceiling, over two thousand feet overhead. I was greeted by a Wolf Shaman. I had heard of this sect of casters, they were Heroes in the eyes of our people, for they had the powers of resurrections. Shamans have helped the townsfolk for years, resurrecting those who had served in the ongoing fight against Samael. He opened my eyes to the great realm of Ogo, for the size of this great realm is staggering. The great serpent slithers and twists around the circumference of the great realm of Deofol. I couldn’t begin to see even a tiny portion of Ogo today, but I knew in another time I would have to explore it’s farthest reaches. The small portion I saw was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen, but sadly, I knew could never see it all. Even the creator of this great realm, Aiyana, as the great druids of the stone circle called her, could never tread all of its swamps, mountains and winding paths.
A figure approached behind me, I felt his presence, for he radiated an aura of pure power. I knew this great hero as Pathwarden, arguably the most influential heroes in all of the Lifebound faction, for he is one of the few who follows the path of power. His story was a great one. Once a low caster traveling with a sect of shamans, they were attacked by a rogue fanatic of Kythis. The great hero, once known as Kam, asked each caster to perform a small rune spell, then used a relatively common combining spell with a twist. All the runes of the sect were converted to power and annihilated the monster. The shockwave was felt throughout the world, and his residual power was enough to allow Aiyana to change his fate forever. I turned to face his towering figure. He spoke with the clearness of a god. He spoke, “Godslayer, you have much more to you then what is apparent. I see that you will be key in the battle of the void. Be wary my boy, for you are more important to the survival of this realm than you realize. I hope you will find yourself in Ogo again.” He knew my destiny, and I took it as words from my father, Logos, himself.
The Wolf Shaman took me up to the great right eye of the serpent that looked towards the entrance to the so-called Void. It was said that the greatest Heroes of the Lifebound controlled the heavens from here. He told me that the eye was the control center of Ogo, and it was a great honor to be invited there. We hiked up many intersecting trails through the brain of the serpent and eventually made it to the eye. It was a spherical room, made of what looked like glass, over 500 feet across. Despite it’s cavernous size, barely anyone was there, but In the center of the room stood a woman taller then even the biggest men in my village. She was staring out the top of the eye, straight at the stars. It looked as if she was praying, and tendrils of silver smoke flowed off of her green tinged skin. I recognized the woman as Cetra, Weaver of Stars. She was one of legend, a great Hero of Deofol. A bender of fate, she was more god then human, but we embraced her as one of our own. I stood in shock as she arose and drifted towards me. Her voice appeared in my head, “Godslayer, son of Logos, your path will be a long one,” I was shocked “but your fate is set in stone. You will be Great.”
The first chapter of my newest Ascension fanfic. This was originally supposed to be a collab with Marshmallowez, but she's really busy lately, so i will be doing most of it.

Enjoy!
